Q: Does a Cool air intake system work with an audi 1.8 turbo?
I was looking to buy a Cool air intake system for my audi 1.8T A4 model but i wasn't sure if it would be compatible with the turbo already in the engine. Any suggestions or input on this would be helpful.

A: if it is a good quality one, you will see an increase of power and mpg's, ans should be compatible with the turbo.

Q: How much for a 1984 Audi 5000s Turbo?
It is in good condition. I think the miles are over 100,000 though. It was actually driven by the representatives for Adidas in the olympics. The olympics gives out cars for sponsors or whoever to drive back and forth from the games to where they stay, and this olympic edition is number 56 of 100 made. It doesn't seem like the car itself is super valuable, but I was wondering how much money the historical value translates into. Not that I am planning on selling it, but I was just curious if anyone could give me a reasonable guesstimate.

A: Normally practically nothing - an '84 with over 100k miles is a couple of hundred bucks at best, if that. The Olympic thing is the only kicker, as you've noticed. Since you know exactly which number it was, it probably would be of value mainly if you can identify which athlete was in it and then preferably a famous one. If you can document that part, you could perhaps squeeze some extra bucks out of it. Other than that, I don't think it would add much unless it was specially painted with Olympic logos or whatever, where for curiousity someone might shell out $1000 or so. Good luck!

Q: Audi 200 turbo exhausting black smoke?
My dad's audi 200 turbo, i think early 90's prolly 91 and it is pearl in color, is exhausting black smoke. We have been told it is because it is running rich, it blows this smoke while it is "idling" and when we accelerate after waiting at a stop light. what is the problem? We have replaced the oxygen sensor and idle control valve. And spark plugs. when we took the old ones out they were all covered in soot or blackened, then we put the new ones in, the car was runnin fine for a day or less, then quit, he pulled the spark plugs and they were blackened again. What is going on?!?

A: I would say the car is running rich. A simple check (to start)would be to see if the air filter is plugging off

Q: Please can someone tell me which car is faster an audi turbo 2.0 diesel or a mercedes compressor C230?
Please help - my nephew really wants to know!! - Thanks

A: There hasn't been a Mercedes C230K model for a few years now, the figures I've got are: 0-60 in 7.3 seconds, top speed 141mph. For the same year (2000) Audi A4 Tdi, 0-60 in 10.5, 124mph. So the Merc wins!

Q: How long does it take to fit a turbo on a Audi?
Just wanted to know so i dont get ripped off. Thanks

A: Still the A3? I would say easily done in half a day - 3 or 4 hours at the absolute outside.

Q: Do audi Turbo engines usually blow out at around 80k to 100k miles?
ive heard that audis usually breakdown and i am looking for an audi a4 2002-2004

A: None of them last forever, but longevity is directly proportional to owner maintenance - especially the lubrication. Most turbo owners don't know how to properly shut the car down which causes premature turbo failure.

Q: vw audi turbo question?
which model of audi of vw us the K04 borg warner turbo?and what year

A: Audi S3 and VW GTI 30th anniversary model all other 2.0T models used the K03

Q: i have an 2000 audi tt, i think the turbo is not fuctioning or working.?
how will i find out if the turbo charger is working, and what can i do to repair it. pls note that i live in east africa in a small town, there are no reliable mechanics or audi centers.

A: I don't believe your car would run if the turbo wasn't working. It is most likely either a vacuum leak, mass air flow sensor, or waste-gate problem. If the turbo wasn't functioning the engine would get no air at all.

Q: What can I do to make a 2001 Audi A4 turbo even faster?

A: ok here is the breakdown : stage 1 - chip (got with APR , GIAC , MTM ) stage 2 - chip and exhaust (and you have +s for intercooler, downpipe) stage 3 - bigger turbo KO4 WITH program for it specifically, fuel pressure regulator or bigger injectors stage 3+ - the way to go - APR GT28rs turbo aka "disco potato" with injectors, program , intake, downpipe ,intercooler make up to 350Hp (crank) where are you located ? see what tuners are in your area . check out : http://www.audiworld.com/forum/a4.html

Q: The emission control system light has come on the dash on my 03 Audi A4 1.8 turbo. Is this serious ?
should I not drive the cae while this is on ? will it be expensive to repair ?

A: no not particularly serious to the vehicle but may be an indication that it is putting higher than advised pollution out. you should get it seen to asap by a qualified mechanich though.

Q: how do i find the door switch on my audi a3 turbo because the alarm wont work, it thinks doors open?

A: its built into the doorlock the dirty pig. you need a new lock

Q: I have a Audi A4 110HP diesel why does it occasionally feel like the turbo is not working ?
The car does not stop but will not accelerate. The next time it may be fine but the problem does seem to be getting worse.

A: if it feels like you do not have boost intermittently, push on nthe lever on the turbo. this opens and closses the vanes. it will have tension on it, but should open smoothly. if it feels sticky and/or takes extra pressure to break free- you need a new turbo.

Q: 1985 audi 5000s turbo?
i have a 1985 audi 500s turbo in perfect condition inside and out but the battery light comes on my alternator is fine and my battery is new. i got told it is a electrical problem should i get it fixed or junk it

A: I had an Audi 5000 back in high school (era 1984). It was a great car until it started to have small problems. I'm using the term "small problems" loosly. If you look at the cost of fixing problems on those 5000's there is never really a small problem. Anything on that car cost at least $200 to fix and that was over 20 years ago. The "small problems" snowballed to the point that something was always wrong with that car not matter what I did to fix it. I'm not alone on this. My uncle had a 500 as well, and it was a rolling POS too. I think Audi wished they never designed that car in the first place, because that model was probably the cause of Audi ranking very poor in quality for car manufacturers during the time when the 5000's were manufactured. Long story short.. Take the rims off. Take the Blaupunkt stereo out. Take the plush front seats out. Park the car near the boarder of Mexico, leave the engine running and walk away from it. Save yourself the grief...

Q: I'm going to fit an induction kit to my 02 Audi A4 turbo quattro.?
I've done it to other cars but in those cases you can see the air filter and everything else, but on the Audi, haven't a clue? Could do with some pics showing what's what in the engine bay?

A: I own a 2001.5 S4 and it took me a little while to figure out how to instal my cold-air....this is what i learned pop the hood > look at the left side of your engine bay your air filter is located inside of the big black plastic box (the box is the cover to the air filter) > on the side of the big box you will find black plastic clasps (possibly metal) and they look and function like screws > undo the screws and you should easily be able to figure out the rest.... Here are some pics.... 1) A view of the area of the engine bay where the air filter is located (I circled the air filter box) http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=image&file=7582390480_28_full.gif 2) A closer view of the air filter box (I circled the clasps) http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=image&file=51392390480_29_full.gif 3) A view of the air filter without the black cover http://img103.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=50249_366472_101_full_122_851lo.jpg

Q: Audi TT Turbo Upgrade.....?
Is there another company besides APR that does a complete stage 3 turbo upgrade for a 2001 Audi TT 225? $6K for the APR is way over priced....

A: I wouldn't trust other brand other than APR.
