Q: what do you think of the service at Audi dealers ?

A: PRICEY but worth it if you can afford it. Those little Audi stamps really keep that residual value up!

Q: roughly how much would a cam belt change on an audi a4,p reg cost...not at the dealers just an ordinary garage
i'm in england uk, how long would it take as well, thanks

A: $200

Q: any advice on where to buy bmw 320 cd m sport apart from main dealers, or should i consider audi a4,?

A: You should definately consider the audi. I know the BMW lovers (i used to be one) are going to be upset at this but i'm stationed in germany and Audi is the new rage. All the motor shows over here compare bmw to audi and in every single class bar none audi has beat bmw in performance hands down. The secret? Audi has mastered thier "quattro" all-wheel drive system. From the A-3 to the flagship A-8 W-12 extra long and the SUV Q-7 BMW has not had a chance in at least 2 years. To add insult to injury, BMW wasn't allowed to call any model of X5 before 2007 an suv because the performance was so poor it didn't qualify as a "utility" vehicle. That being said, i now drive an Audi myself. Good Luck

Q: Audi'03 A4 Quattro 3.0L pilling paint from console buttons?
Here is another one. The paint is pilling off easy and when I stop by at Audi dealer, rep told me that my buttons been painted over and that white plastic under - is the original. Which is totally damn suggestion on my point of view. Any suggestions on interior paint, replacements?

A: Plastic is a bitch to paint & it prob. won't last. Just replace them, It's a common prob.

Q: Is there anyone who has had an 00-05 Audi or Volkswagen timing belt problem?
I have an Audi TT with a warranty which the dealer specifically told me would cover the belt should it break with in the alotted time. I was wondering how many other people this has happened to and what they have done about it.

A: There is a class action suit going on... Go here for more info http://forums.motivemag.com/zerothread?id=3965715

Q: Car dealers to visit?
This summer me and my grandmother are looking at cars at dealers, just for something to do one day. We are already going to an Audi dealer (she has an Audi and she wants to test drive the new a5) as well as a scion dealer (we want to look at the tC for me in highschool)... any other recommendations? thanks!

A: Visit Honda, Ford, Toyota, Chevy, visit all the places that have cars you like. Pretty much all car dealers have deals on all different cars... especially cars that use more gas!

Q: What's the simplest way to buy a car in the States and bringing it into Canada?
I'm looking to buy an Audi A3 but it cost 30% more in Canada. There has been many website describing such process but it would be nice to hear some first hand experiences. I live in BC, so I will have to choose one of the few Audi dealers in the Washington state. Thanks.

A: I run a dealership in s. calif. and sell to canadians looking for salt free cars in our state. They pay cash for the vehicles so we can give them the title. You will not be able to register in canada with out the title so you will need to pay cash for it.

Q: Do u Have a '02 AUDI A6 3.0? [SIX DISC CD PLAYER] HELP!!!?
My cd player wont eject, load or play any cds. It keeps saying "error 3" and that it is a malfunction. I have had all 6 cds loaded for months now and I know that I just need to get to the magazine to empty it. But I can find it on this model car. I dont know how to get my cd player to work. please help me avoid paying hundreds of dollars for this at the audi dealers! I HATE AUDI!!!!! DONT BUY THEM! THEY ARE EXPENISVE LEMONS! P.S my warranty is up so thats not an option... any help is appreciated. thanks!

A: i had this happen to me with my last car. it was a 6-disc in-dash cd player just like audi has. the problem was the cd changers are made to only handle regular cd's- not homemade burned cd's. the homemade cd's are thicker and wear out the disc-changer faster, causing errors. i found this out by caving in and bringing it to the dealer (big bucks). my audi now gave me that error last week and i'm pissed, too, but it just eventually gave me my cd back after hitting "eject", and then hitting different disc numbers untill it spit it out. i now use my ipod mostly, lol.

Q: i just purchased a 2003 pre-certified Audi 1.8 quatro triptronic trans ...?
fully jammed and well mantained .i bought it from an audi dealer with 35k miles.the car is awesome ,runs like a dream...but all i hear is horror storys with audi repairs and break downs.i plan to keep it properly maintianed with oil changes and 10k mile services at the audi dealer....are audi's that bad?an unreliable car?

A: I was a technician for Audi for 4 years. Listen, if you love the car, that is what counts. All cars have their problems. It is known through consumer reports and such that vw/audi reliability is poor. Being that it is pre-certified, you are doing good. That warranty covers a lot. Your vehicle had ignition coil problems, engine problems when not properly maintained, side airbag issues (just a wiring update). A lot of these things were probably already fixed. Do your oil changes every 5,000 miles/5 months and only use synthetic. Keep up on the tire pressures because the Audi is a heavy car and will eat the tires up quicker being all wheel drive. They are a safe and smooth riding car. Good luck.

Q: I need info about Audi a4's?
I want a 2002-2004 audi a4 for my next vehicle, but i am kinda nervous about it. I read that alot of these have mechanical problems and basically go through transmissions and oil. Is it the only poeple reviewing them are the ones who are unhappy, or are all of them messed up? If they do have minor flaws do you have to take them to audi dealers to get them worked on or can you take them to any repair shop? And because its an expensive car does that mean that its expensive to work on? Any knowledge about the audi a4 would be greatly appreciatted.

A: I have an A4 and it is the best car i have ever been in (aside from S4's and other cars over $40,000) they do not break down unless messed with, audis can last until 200k miles plus, so I'm not really sure where that BS about them being unreliable is coming from. now if you treat your audi well (oil changes at every 5000 miles, timing belt changed at 70k miles) then your car will last... get quattro b/c there is no feeling like taking turns at 45-55 mph and watching peoples reactions. I know atleast 100 people that have the a4 between 2002-2004, so dont listen to whoever said "consumer reports" they like everyone else experience one car until they get a new version (generation) every few years or so... in the end, its up to you, but they do have amazing resale value... and yeah if you want true reviews... look up forums on the web over any car you want and you'll get the pros and cons about owning that car...

Q: Audi A6 1.8T low oil pressure light on 2000 model?
hi do all audi dealers know about this free oil update and what do i do if they deny all knowledge? any help is welcomed this is a A6 1.8T engine and as far as i know my service garage has been putting 10W40 semi-synthetic oil in it . now done 102k miles trouble free up until now, but waiting to here from audi dealer to see if they will do this so-called update for free. just been told there is no recall or update for free, so not very happy at the moment, any ideas ?

A: I own a 2000 A4 1.8T (A6 came with V6 - 2.8 if I'm not mistaken). What oil update? Do you mean that the cars (with turbo engines) now require synthetic oil (instead of the regular oil)? what difference does it make if they know it or not - as long as you know it? But I think they all know it. Good Luck...

Q: Audi extended the warranty on MAF sensor - but...?
Just came back from Audi dealer. I was told that the MAF sensor warranty was extended to 7 year or 70K mile. (a) does anybody know where I could lookup these "hidden" or extended warranty information (b) Has anybody else heard about the MAF warranty and if these extended warranty was 7 year OR 70K (or which ever comes first)? I'm asking because my car is past the 7 years mark (yr 2000) but not the 70K mile mark yet. (c) anybody know a good place to buy a replacement MAF sensor (for 2000 Audi A4 1.8T)? I'm not looking for the cheapest but decent price and reliable manufacturer. Thanks in advance.

A: the maf sensor is covered by the 'federal emission warranty' . below is a list of items that are covered by this 7year 70,000 mile warranty. it's good to change your air filter, but Audi is know for there poor maf sensors. it's not unusual for them to break. Fuel tank,Turbocharger Charge, air cooler, Throttle body, Throttle actuator, control module, Mass air flow sensor, Intake manifold, Power train control module (engine), Exhaust manifold, Front exhaust pipe, Secondary air injection pump, Catalytic converter, Power train ctrl module (transmission)

Q: Does any body knows an Independent and relaible Audi mechanic in Miami ?
Hey, I getting sick and tired of paying ridicules amounts to get my car fixed at "the collection” In Coral Gables I am not totally certain weather they actually do the job they are supposed to or not Like when I took it for the require 35-40 K Miles they needed to check the railing of the sunroof and when they gave it back to me was broken, I am all by myself and have a son a 6 days job of 12 hours daily and therefore going and leaving my car in the shop every time they dont do things right it is definitely not an option for me. I have to replace one engine seal (I don't know which) in the car I don’t want they to rip me again I am looking for a good permanent and reliable Audi Auto Mechanic I can talk with instead of talking with the "Service Rep" who is obviously there because he gets paid by the amount of "service he is able to sell" I have been looking online and I don't find many or any other options more that the two large Audi Dealers in Miami. I have a neighbor who claims can do it but I don't want to take such chance.

A: Go on Audizine.com or Audiforums. Go on the regional section, and post your question there. Someone will give a good answer.

Q: Warrany Info - Audi?
I am taking my Audi in for service, which is covered under the factory warranty. Is the loaner car provided by the Audi dealer also covered or will I have to pay that? Same as my car? That doesn't make sense. I want to know if the COST of the loaner car is covered by the warranty...

A: Well why dont you just call up Audi I have included their contact website so follow the link and its should explain itself Also could I take the oppotunity to praise you for owning and audi because we all know that they Are brilliant cars ( I have the new R8 ) I would highly reccomend it to you Oliver Nash

Q: Oil change on Audi A4?
My car was overdue for an oil change when I bought it, so I just went down to the local auto parts store and got a purolator plus oil filter and changed the oil with that. The Audi dealer reccomends an oil filter with a pressure release system, I'm not sure if the oil filter I have on the car has one. Should I replace the oil filter now, or would it be okay to wait until the next oil change?

A: Your oil filter should be ok until your next oil change, just don't let it go beyond when it is needed. The pressure release system is to keep the oil flow from stopping in the event the filter gets clogged. When you do change your oil, use synthetic oil and get the best filter you can buy. The oil change is the most important and least expensive maintenance you can perform on the car to make the engine last.
