also does anyone know the cost of the 40k service at audi dealer?because i'm close to 40k and wondering if i should do both at the same time.
i have a 2003 A4 tiptronic
thanks for your help
A: oil cjhange about 60 bucks 40 k serv about 200 if no major problems found good luck
Q: The Audi dealer wants to charge 1,700 for 75,000 mile maintenance. Is this a good price?
Assuming a non-dealer shop would be cheaper, how much should they charge? Any other options besides selling? Thanks!
A: Get a detailed invoice of what has to be done. Some items are replaced in order to keep the car in top shape. Like for example, an O sensor before goes bad or send wrong signals. They are not cheap though. Labor is the killer. An independent shop is cheaper, but do they know what has to be done? That is the thing. On the Audi VW dealers, they might have some items that might still working fine, but is a reliability and accuracy issue that has to be replaced. If you drove the crap out of your car, part of the inspection are suspension parts, they are expensive to fix, other is the Timing Belt if you have one. If you do not replace it, might break and you end up with a destroyed engine that cost way more.
If you ever get the chance to live in Germany and take a car from here, most cars does not pass inspection. German "DOT" is very meticulous and picky with the cars on their roads. Rust is not allowed on the cars. So is pretty normal that MB, BMW, VW Audi they have a rigorous tight inspections and calls for parts replacements to ensure a vehicle in top shape.
That is why they are such a great cars, but they do come at a price.
Q: Does anyone know of an Audi dealer in Malta?
I'm moving there for a while and need to buy a car. Can someone recommend a good dealer to me?
Thanks,
Moll
Thanks for that Doug. Fewer thanks for the attitude. Call me stupid, but I was searching for Maltese car dealers rather than the other way round. Yes, silly now, with hindsight.
Moll
A: There's only one in Malta. And would you believe it took me one minute to find this out on audi.com
Why couldn't you do it yourself?
Here it is:
Continental Cars Ltd.
Testaferrata Street
Msida MSD 02
MALTA

Q: Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Audi dealer in Atlanta?
A: Here you go: AUDI of North Atlanta 11405 Alpharetta Hwy Roswell, GA 30076-3802 Volkswagen Audi Training Center 560 Atlanta South Pkwy Atlanta, GA 30349 (404) 767-5201
Q: need service to a4 awd quattro, how much is to a audi dealer?
milage 49.800. what a service includes, oil change ....................
A: If you are still under warranty, a dealership will charge you nothing! However, if you are currently not under warranty, an Audi dealer should charge you around $90-$100 for an oil change plus service screening. Out-of-warranty labor usually costs about $75/hour on V4 Audis...this is all based on if you have a 1.8T A4.
Q: Audi Servicing - What is your experience of cheaper alternatives to main Dealer? UK?
Anyone offer advice on finding cheaper service deals for audi cars. Its now the 100,000mile service and i dont think its worth the whacking £400 the Audi garage is charging to change oils/filter etc. Basically they are charging for the reset of the dash service light and the Audi stamp in the log book. When a car gets >100k miles i think this is less essential. Any experiences of the national/online service that is available?
A: i highly recommend learning how to hitchhike if you're going to drive an audi
Q: what will a full service entail on my audi?
My audi is flashing up it needs a service and i recently got a quote from an audi dealer and was quoted over £380 for the service. a friend of mine recommend we do it ourselves (he has basic car maintenance experience) so i am trying to find out what exactly the service would included as the car has done 120,000 miles.
A: a full service would be all fluids changed, injectors cleaned, air, fuel, and oil filters changed, alignment adjusted, wheels balanced, service light reset. you would probably want to check brake pads as well. depending on the year your Audi was made it may have a few plastic shrouds to remove.
Q: how much does it cost to replace a thermostat in a 98 Audi a4?
like, not at the AUDI dealer. at like a german auto special.
A: You have a 4 or 6 cyl? In the case of the 6 at least, the timing belt must be removed, so it may as well be replaced at the same time. To do it all correctly, could be staring at $500. Welcome to Audi.
Q: Loaner with Audi factory warranty service?
I am taking my Audi in for service, which is covered under the factory warranty. Is the loaner car provided by the Audi dealer also covered or will I have to pay that?
A: i believe it is covered
Q: audi 100 Reactivate radio after replacing battery and no dealer in this area &. do not have code?
called audi, would not give the 4 digit code no. by phone or email & they insisted it be taken to an authorized dealer & that there would be a $60 charge
A: then you're stuck, these radio codes are tied in with the vin no. and only audi can give you the code, the only other way round it is to get another eeprom programmed to a known code (if that makes any sense)
Q: I just took my 1998 Audi A6 to the dealer and they said that all 4 upper links have torn. What does this mean?
Also, how much would this cost if I were to get it fixed?
A: I had a '98 A4 and now have a '03 A4. It sounds like he's talking about the suspension bushings on the front wheels. The suspension has lower and upper components and the bushings are like rubber gaskets between the metal componets of the suspension and the wheel. The help absorb shock from travelling from the wheel through the suspension etc. which helps soften the ride somewhat.
The material originally used on the '98 cars had a tendency to wear out which would often show signs of wear by squeaking a fair bit when driving over bumps - like speed bumps. If you didn't fix them the bushings would eventually wear out and it would cause handling problems, & ride comfort issues with your car but you won't lose a wheel. I had them replaced on my '98 A4 but it was done under warranty so it didn't cost me anything. I don't think it'll cost you thousands to fix but the dealer will give you an estimate before you authorize any work to proceed.
Q: How will an Audi 2.0T perform in an Alaskan winter?
Hey I really want an 2006 Audi A4 2.0T but I am not sure how it will react to the Alaskan winter. I am being sent to Fairbanks for work and I will be hours from the nearest Audi dealer in Anchorage. Is this a bad situation?
A: well being a few hours away for the dealer ship should be fine if you can change you own oil and there is a dealer somwhere around. this should be true for any vehicle. As for the car in the weather its is the perfect car. the quattro AWD is amazing on snow and ice it is very predictable probably the best AWD ive driven. the rust proffing is also very good you should easily get 12 years + before you see any rust. i would get the cold wheather package.
Q: How to get another key for My Audi?
I have a 2000 Audi A6 and I only have one key, the one with key-less entry... How do I get another one with the remote, or even just a spare? I live in Odessa Texas and there are NO Audi Dealers anywhere near I don't think, and traveling miles to get another key programmed is not really an option for me, Any help would be appreciated.
thanx, but I called, the "livingston Audi" is actually "Livingston audiology and hearing aide service"
A: ether go to the dealership or go to a locksmith with the Technology but it will be highly expensive because on my 09 Ford Ranger its like $150 a key hope this helps :)
