I purchased the car used in august of 2007 I have had the car less than a year. I also purchased the extended warrenty my questions is should these repairs be covered under the vehicle orginal warrenty. I have out more than $1000 in to this car in under a year help.

A: Well, depends on the terms of the warranty. Best thing to do is contact the dealership where you got the car from? But usually there is a certain amount of miles / time period for the warranty to expire. such as a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty and if you look into it, it only covers certain things on the car. So it all depends.

A: YOU can't! Take it to a shop. Your car takes R-12. You can no longer buy it over the counter unless you are EPA certified to work on automotive ac systems. Are you? On top of that most DIYs don't have the equipment to do the job the right way. Just topping off the system with 1lb cans can do more damage than good to the car & the enviroment.

A: there are two sites that might have what you are looking for. try both of these places they have allot of older and wrecked Audis that the dismantle and part out.

Q: What is the botton for in my 1999 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro?
I have a 1999 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro. There is a botton located at the left side of the driver seat on the pillar. Is there anybody who know what it is for? Also, it has a red light when it is switched on and a car figure with signals or waves in it.

A: My 98 A6 has two buttons on the drivers side pillar. One is for the trunk release. The one I think you are talking about is very tricky. If you press it while or right after locking the car it will disable the interior motion sensor for the alarm. So you can lock the car if you want to sleep, just sit in the car, or have a dog/pet in the car. Test it out and see what happens. You can use your key fob to lock or unlock the car. a>

Q: Subaru Impreza Wagon or Audi Quattro?
I'm trying to decide on what used vehicule I'd get more value for between the two. Maintenance, value etc.. can anyone offer any kind of pros or cons?

A: Audi's are expensive to maintain if you're taking it to the stealership. Dunno too much about Subaru's, but hear that they're pretty reliable. Audi's aren't the most reliable cars out there but are pretty damn close to the sexiest.

A: I believe those audis had the fuel pump inside the gas tank. If it does, then you have to remove the back seat and you'll find a small door you have to remove to get at it.

looking for a part called a clock spring and am having trouble finding one for my grand daughters vehicle and it needs to be "triptronic" what ever the heck that means.

A: Start with your local parts store but I have a hunch that this is a dealer part. You did not state what year the car is, that's important as the dealers are not committed to carry parts for cars more than 7 years old. The good news is that the Germans are usually very good at not leaving you stranded if it's an older model, you can almost always order the part. The triptronic transmissions have paddle shifters on the steering wheel that allow you to shift up or down for yourself if you want to.
