I am looking at the Audi Q5 and was wondering if anyone has this vehicle and what their experience is with it? Thanks for the info. guys! :) I am also 44 and looking for a luxury car now. I have had my share of modest cars (I have had 3 Saturn vehicles for the last 10 years, the last 2 vehicles being Saturn Vue's). I am ready for something nice. I definitely want an SUV, as I have a 13 year old son to cart around (the 18 year old is now finally driving his own vehicle!). I was priced an Audi Q5 (Premium Plus Package) for $42,000 in NorthEast U.S.) I will be paying about $200 more a month than I did with the Saturn, and more on Insurance too. I just don't want to make any rash decisions. I have never had any problems with Saturn and only had to replace breaks on 1 of them after 4 years. That is a pretty good record!

A: Yes, I am a 44 year old male, and I bought it. My 13 year old son (i have no clue where he gets it from) is 6'3, and can fit in the back seat when a person the same size is driving. The SUV is an amazing price for the amount of luxury you get in it. I live in Canada, and purchased it for UNDER 50,000!! My other new car I just bought was a 2009 audi a4 at the same time, and the a4 with some packages was about $51,000. The cars drive similarly, only thing I like more about the SUV, is that it has more storage, but the A4 gets much better mileage. If you're looking for storage and semi-affordable luxury, go for the Q5, if its just two people you have in the car, consider the A4, it's new refined looks might just catch on if that's your case. -Liam

Q: Audi Q5 or Lexus RX350 (2010)?
I am having a difficult time in choosing the Q5 and the RX. I'm thinking about getting either one for my parents. Q5 looks better on outside and inside, but RX has a better reliability. Prefer $50000 below and may keep for a quite long time. What do you guys think? Pros/ Cons?

A: It hinges on how old your parents are and how much value your parents pursue. RX350 is a great suv with great economy in gas consumption. However Q5 has better reputation from Audi. Although the value of used car is much more reduced than RX, German car gives you more luxury and name value wherever you go with it. Q5 is firmer than RX when driving whereas RX gives you smoother and more quiet in driving. In the mean time Q5 has second to none AWD system that was inherited from R10 or 12 from Le Mans Race in France and gives you great feeling in cornering. Best choice will be come from your feeling when you test drive. I would go Q5. Audi is more luxury and reliable brand than Lexus and will be after driving 2 years from now.

A: They are the same car almost. The VW is lighter, more fuel efficient, cheaper, and more fun to drive. The Audi is more luxurious, quieter, has a smoother ride, and costs more. Both are probably the best looking compact SUV's.

No im not joking, i seriously am going to get one of these cars.

A: Wow, this is ridiculous. I sincerely doubt that if you were actually getting any of these cars, that you'd have a Ford on the list. P.S. If you actually were getting any of these cars, which you aren't, you shouldn't get any of them. High school students don't deserve to have cars that are nicer than most adults'.

A: Any BMW is awesome, go for the 528xi, luxury, safe, with performance, and precise handling, plus room for friends too. Also, the car looks fantastic, and their awd is fabulous in the elements.

A: On that list.....maybe the BMW or Audi A8 But I don't care for any of them. Just be sure to stay away from the Range Rover POSport.

Q: Pro's & Con's of owning a SUV?
I have an Audi A3 (one below the S3),which I adore but am thinking of upgrading to an Audi Q5. Anyone have any advice? Im a single guy. Just like the idea of an SUV. My current Audi is an A3 Sportback 2.0 Turbo Quattro Sline Special Edition which means it is 4x4 anyway! Thanks for info re tyre wear. Other pointers like this is helpful.

A: Unless you live in a rural area or have a vocation where 4 wheel drive is necessary it is a waste of money and fuel. I drive back roads in the winter, across fields, pull grain wagons and trailers, thus the 4 X 4. Less mileage, more thus more expensive maintenance, higher initial price, higher insurance rates, shorter tire life in most cases, higher repair bills if the 4 X 4 system has issues. Do the math. But then again if you just want to look like the rest of the "soccer moms".

A: Wow, great question. In terms of the sedans, each car has its own appeal, but if you are looking at OVERALL competancy, I would say the 7-series is the best. It combines the best of each car, while adding a healthy dose of sportiness. The Lexus LS is the quietist ride of the bunch, while the A8 would be the most handsome (interior particularly). The Mercedes is a fantastic automobile as well. A good summary would be "A BMW for those who like to be driven". Regarding the SUV's: You forgot about the Acura MDX, which wins most head-to-head contests. However, given the cars provided, I would say (top to bottom)- X5, Q5, M-Class, RX. Regarding the coupes: No Porsche?! The Cayman is the best overall coupe in the price range you provided. However, given the cars provided, I would say (top to bottom)- SL, TT, Z4, SC. The SC really doesn't even belong in the same group, it's a short-wheelbase ES Sedan. The Mercedes SL is more expensive than the rest of the vehicles in the lineup and, accordingly, takes the cake. The TT is beautiful and sporty, particularly with its new design and engine. The Z4 is a good car, but not up to typical BMW standards. Hope this helps!
