Q: audi coupe?
Anyone know about audi coupe oil pressers, cos mine is running at over 5 bar is this right?

A: its about right, converted it back to psi and the pressure is tehre or thereabouts, should drop a little at tickoever and when its hot. This engine is fussy with its oil, keep to high quality fully synthetic oil such as Mobil 1 and allow th engine to warm up before going over 3000 rpm

Q: How do you open the trunk on a 1981 Audi Coupe?
How do you open the trunk on a 1981 Audi Coupe? Is there a button or latch somewhere? I cant find a lever or a keyhole or anything! Please help.

A: I am not familiar on the Audi specifically but their are a couple of things you should try: 1. See if their is a button on the key. 2. See if their is a key slot and stick the key and and turn to the right 3. Near the stearing wheel their might be a switch.

Q: How can you tell the difference between a 1986 Audi Coupe GT and a 1986 Audi Coupe Quattro?
The Coupe GT is cheaper model and has a front-wheel drive drivetrain. The Quattro is All Wheel Drive. But visually how could you tell the difference?

A: With out getting on your hand and knees to look at the rear diff. The std exhaust on a GT has a single pipe the Cq has a twin. The diff lock on the dash instead of the extra gauges. If std the badging. Tyre sizes can be the same as both can take 175-195 /14.

Q: 86 Audi coupe What else do I have to change when converting from drum to disc brakes. more details>?
I am a professional mechanic so i know it can be done. I just need to know if anyone else has done this and if they ran into any problems. I have a 86 audi coupe GT with rear drums and I know a rear axel from an 88 80 or 90 will bolt right on( rear disc). the problem is with the master cylinder. I know i cant use the original. but will a master from an 80 or 90 fit on the 86 coupe and still work the front brakes with the proper pressure. anyone have a clue or know a website where audi owners swap info like this. the proper rear shoes are getting hard to find and the parking brake is really weak with this setup. Remember, I'm a professional mechanic with many best answers so NO RETARDS ALLOWED. If you cant help, keep your mouth shut.

A: Congratulations on a rare car! I had an '83 CGT for many years. The cheapest, easiest and most sensible thing to do would be to buy an '87.5 Coupe which already came with disc brakes, plus a larger and more powerful engine (and an odd, love-it-or-hate-it digital dash). Audi Coupes, sad to say, are essentially worthless -- oh, sorry, "seriously undervalued by an ignorant car-buying public who doesn't understand their value." (I love them, but it's basically down to you, me, and this guy I know in San Jose who understand why they're so cool.) Having said that... the NEXT cheapest/most reasonable thing would be to find an '87.5 in a junkyard and swap out the whole braking system (not forgetting the little rear-brake biasing switch just in front of the right rear trailing arm). Take the motor, too -- it's a higher-compression 2.3L five-cylinder, with more torque as well as more power (130, if memory serves -- a hefty jolt up from the 100 in my 2.1L version. The last '87.5 I drove, the one belonging to the guy in San Jose I was talking about, was a LOT more punchy than mine.) Barring that, you can swap in the entire braking system from an Eighties 80 or 90 (FWD, obviously) -- get the fronts, too, the front discs are larger (I have a set in my garage, a planned track upgrade I never installed on my CGT.) You may also need to snag the wheels from your donor car. I know that my '83 used 4 x 100 bolt pattern wheels (same as contemporary VWs), and I know that the post-87.5 Audis used 4 x 108 wheels (same as my Alfas), but I DON'T remember when they changed over, so I'm not sure which size your car uses. Take along a set of calipers when you're junkyard hunting. The thing is... the drum brakes on the early Coupes aren't a problem, except that ricers will laugh if you have rims with big spaces between the spokes and they see drums instead of red-lacquered calipers and cross-drilled rotors. There's so little weight on the rear wheels in our Coupes that even for high-speed track work, the drums work perfectly well and give a fine balance. (Which is why the 80/90 upgrade also included larger front discs, so that the car doesn't snap around on you when you slam on the brakes.) Now, if you've already dropped in a low-pressure turbo from a 5000T, or maybe the entire 20V turbo from a junkyard 200T, and you're planning on doing a lot of track time with R-compound tires, then yes, you might really be justified in upgrading the rear brakes. But otherwise... rear discs are really just bling on these cars, and your money and time is much better spent in other areas (like that junkyard turbo swap, for instance -- the I5 crank and rods are good for 300BHP, though your tranny isn't). And THAT is the honest, non-retard truth.

Q: Will they ever make the Audi RSQ Sports Coupe?
the car from I, Robot... i know its only a prototype during the movie production, but any information if they were ever actually going to put the car into production?

A: I'd say there are 2 chances of that ever happening....slim... and none. And Slim just left town.

Q: I have two options for a car. Should I buy the new lexus coupe or the used audi lemans 2003?
I'm 18 and my dad has offered to buy me my dream car audi or the lexus. But I can't choose.I'm going off to college in a few days and I need to make a decision soon. I'm also a fast driver so can you tell me which is the fastest?

A: The SC430 is an amazing car. As far as the Audi is concerned your looking at some reliability issues. Especially an 03 model. The new coupe from Lexus would be better as far as maintenance is concerned. I am taking it that your price range is in the mid 60s. That's what the SC is selling for any who. Is the convertible why your buying the SC? If it's a performance car I would seriously consider the similarly priced Lexus IS-F. It's a 5 liter v8 power house. Maximizing performance and embracing safety and luxury. But that's just my opinion.

Q: i have an audi coupe 2.0l 16v, 1994. when i start it up it starts idling, sometimes it stalls.?
have you any ideas what this could be?

A: sounds like it is the idle control valve. its located by the inlet manifold/ plenum chamber. if you unplug it, disconnect the 2 air pipes & remove it then wash it out with wd40 & re-try it it should idle ok after a couple of minutes

Q: Are the front seats in an Audi Coupe (1986) the same size as VW Golf Mk1,mk2, mk3 or scirocco?
I actually want to confirm if anyone knows whether the subframes from the early VW will fit straight into a 1986 Audi Coupe Quattro

A: probably, if your looking to fit them then you might find you just need to change the sub frames from audi to vw

Q: Value of my 1984 Audi GT Coupe?
1984 Audi GT Coupe had one owner, garage kept and pampered all 89000 miles it was driven. It has all its original parts and is show room perfect. I think its worth about 7k. What do you think its worth? Please help.

A: I sold my 86 coupe GT w/ new motor, 17" aftermarket wheels, new suspension, exhaust, intake, and a killer stereo for 3K. It was in great condition 148K miles. And it ran like a champ. I regret selling it.
