Q: Does anybody know where i can buy an Audi Allroad Quattro Automatic?
I am looking to buy an Audi Allroad Quattro, i want a newish one no later than 2003 with less than 60,000 miles. These things are really hard to come accross with low milage.

Q: Audi Allroad Air suspension different than shocks?
I own Audi Allroad with air suspension. We are having problems with it--the insurance company is trying to tell us the repairs will not be covered because it's a shock problem. Isn't the air suspension a different system than the shocks?!
A: The Allroad has air shocks. Basically instead of the usual pneumatic shocks that are on most cars the Allroad has shocks that are filled by an air compressor to moderate ride height. This allows for lower vehicle height on the highway and higher when on rough roads, etc.
Q: Do I need to buy 4 new tires for my Audi Allroad?
I have an '03 AllRoad and one flat tire (cannot be patched). Do I replace all? If so, why?
A: You can get away with replacing just the ones on the axle thats flat.
Q: Do anyone know if Audi of America will bring the new Allroad back to the United States?
I know that Audi redesigned the Allroad for the 2006 model year but discountinued it in the US. I have seen European pics of it but was wondering if anyone knew anything about it.
I understand that the Q7 could have replaced the allroad but other countries have both. Was the allroad that bad of a car in the US that we can't have both
A: The Q7 is not in the same category/size as the allroad. As of now, Audi has not showed any plans of selling it in the USA something which signals that they will not be changing their mind. Statistically, if Audi does not respond to such questions regarding production or sale of a certain model it is either because: a) they're keeping it as a surprise (usually done with their more "exotic" models, i.e. RS4, R8, TT Clubsport and the upcoming RS8) or b)there no surprise but also they want to keep people up on their feet to maintain their interest in Audi. Unlike the previous allroad, the new one is not that much of a groundbreaking car and also is not as unique as the previous, since it is produced with various engines fitted into it. Thus it sounds more like plan b).
Also, it should be noted that, their decision not to bring it stateside could be due to the low sales of the previous allroad. Another speculation is that Audi is preparing their next SUV (or rather SAV) under the name Q5 based on the new chassis that Audi will be using on all of its future models starting with the A5. The Q5, altough it will measure higher than the current allroad, it will demonstrate a superior performance and safety to any of Audi's previous crossovers.
Therefore, if this assumption holds, Audi is saving any possible allroad customers for the Q5.
As you see, there is no absolute answer to your question, but I think I gave some food for thought.

IT SUCKS, I LOVED MY AUDI, up until one of the turbos went, and the dealership said it would be 8000 bucks to fix =X
A: your Allroad shares the same K03 turbos used on the S4. Since upgrading turbos is so popular with the performance crowd, used K03's are readily available and CHEAP ! Unfortunately, labor cost in replacing is the expensive part if you can't do your own maint...

Hi all. I am looking at buying a second hand Audi Allroad 2.7T.
What kind of mileage can I expect from it ? any particular point I should pay attention? any know issues with this car? Is it expensive to run/service?

A: These turbo engines could go as far as you can take them. They could go 1,000,000 miles or more if you drive that much for a living. As long as you use 5w40 or 0w40 VW approved oil, which most shops or the dealer won’t offer without taking Solomons’ treasure map as down payment. Use Mobil 1 or a European brand available at the website below. Always give the engine oil time to warm up before engaging warp speed. In later years they got bigger turbo oil lines to help with failing turbos on early models.
The most expensive part of servicing these engines is the timing belt job which most do at 75,000 or 105,000 miles. Most owners usually try to get rid of their cars at this time because they want to avoid the timing belt cost and it's out of warranty, and no more free maintenance (they couldn't afford a German car in the first place if they're that tight walleted). Timing belt parts will run $254, which includes the timing belt, idler roller, tensioner roller, water pump, thermostat, accessory drive belt. You'll also need G12 antifreeze. The tools for the job should run $120, and $50 for the Bentley repair CD. NGK spark plugs will run $70 for 6. If you take it to a shop, be prepared to pay $1,500. Most of it labor. Early models have HP-2 front brake calipers which require 4 small pads for each wheel instead of 2 large. If you keep it at 55 you should get 28-30 mpg on premium. The auto has higher gearing than the 6 speed, so the auto will get SLIGHTLY better mileage, but requires fluid changes at 50k miles. And yes, turbo replacement is expensive since the engine needs to be pulled and both replaced at the same time. It could cost around $5,000. But it's rare unless it's been chipped and abused. Depending on age, you might need a new coolant temp sensor. They used to be $5 but are now $20, and only take a few min to replace by yourself, near the firewall behind the engine block.. New green sensors replace older black ones.
The next thing you might want to worry about is the air bag suspension system. If it goes, it could be more than the car is worth. You could also look at the S6 avant, with the 340hp V8 and normal suspension, but no manual tranny is offered. You can find some for $25k, and they have almost the same flared wheel arch body styling, with deep red gauge digits and white needles on a 190mph speedo, limited to 155. From what I read the V8 gets even better gas mileage than the 2.7 twin turbo! Due to the higher geared tranny again.
There are a few recalls for the A6 which would also affect this car. One being to add padding behind the light switch wires to prevent a short and fire. A few other minor ones can be taken care of in a few minutes or hour.

A: The Allroad Quattro is a high-performance, all-wheel-drive wagon based on the A6 Avant. Audi made it between 2001 and 2005 and currently offer it as an A6 Avant. It was a great multi-purpose station wagon that came with an optional 4.2L V8 engine since 2004. Q: Audi Allroad not braking well in snow?
My 2003 Allroad was shuddering and sliding in the light snow / slush today. I have not had this type of issue in dry or rain, but the suspension light has been on some mornings after the temp dropped. I understand that sometimes the air bags in the suspension that shrink or leak, but would this impact the brakes? Or could tire air pressure be involved?
Note: Going 10 MPH, it took me nearly 100 feet to stop. Every other car on the road made my intended left turn with ease.

A: Listen for dentist-drill noises from the turbos, make sure the transmission shifts and operates fine - the torque converters go bad on the automatic transmissions in these cars. Finally, go buy or borrow someone's VAGCOM software to do a scan for codes on the car before you buy it - you'd be surprised by how many problems can be hiding in one of those cars without the check engine light or any other error light coming on. The VAGCOM software can tell you everything about the car, not just engine-related but anything electrical related, which is where Audi has the most problems.
Q: 2003 Acura MDX or Audi Allroad?
So, im trying to decide between the purchase of a (2001-2003) MDX or an Audi Allroad 2.7T. I have driven both and like both , I like 7 passanger on the MDX but also really like the Audi since im a VW whore.. most of this will be 50k + and im really interested in reliable and safe. could you suggest your pick? but mainly a convincing reason why? 10points best answer...
A: One of those vehicles is still around and continuing its evolution, the other one stopped because it was picked off due to natural selection.
Several problems existed with the Audi Allroad. It was a stop gap between their wagons based off their sedans and an actual SUV. Its not really an SUV but not really a good wagon. If I remember correctly, Audi was also producing Avant versions of the A4, A6, and S6. The A6 was definately more luxurious and the A4 could be tuned to be sportier.
The Acura MDX is a sporty vehicle that has more power than most vehicles in its class, V6 engines in that class normally aim for high MPG's. It is lauded for having a well appointed interior and a good mix of comfort and sportiness.
In terms of safety, they're both very good choices. Reliabilty is where Acura pulls ahead because pre-owned Audi's tend to be less reliable. VW/Audi's can get really expensive if they need to be repaired without a warranty because of the weak dollar to euro.

A: Get some decent snow tires, and you'll have all the traction you'll need in the snow.
Q: Audi ALLROAD Clutch Problem?
My 2000 (X REG) Allroad has a problem. In normal driving mode the clutch works as it should, although there could be a possibility of a renewal soon. What the problem is, is when the car is either towing or reached high temperatures due to me running it hard, the clutch disappears. The pedal becoms light and there is no clutch at all available until the car has cooled down a little. I had to wait 1/2 hour yesterday before i could engage any gears.
I reckon the viscosity of the hydraulic oil is breaking down and hence giving me the problem. Apparently there is a modification from Audi with a pipe that takes the hydraulics away from the exhaust, but i dont see why i should have to pay for the mod when i believe it should be a recall as a defect.
Has anyone else had this same problem?
