Q: Is it worth buying an Audi A3?
I've currently got a VW Polo. But I was looking to buy an Audi A3. I've never had any problems with my Polo. But was wondering, mechanically, does the A3 have common problems, is it reliable etc? Or am I better off with the Polo that's never broken? Thanks

A: I have a Golf Tdi and an Audi A3 is something i have been looking at too. As long as you stay away from the standard 1.6 petrol your shure to have a better car. The polo is a good little car and the GTi versions are very nippy but the Audi A3 has a little more style and that extra pulling power. Audi and Vw are pretty much the same brand. audi have a slightly upper class apeal though, making them hold there value. in my opinion the best model to go for is the 2.0 Tdi. The insurance is not that high as it is a diesel. it moves like the devil on rocket skates and will deliver good fuel economy. it is also easy to maintain. if you prefer petrol then go for the 1.6 sport or the 1.8 hope this helps

Q: Should I buy an Audi A3, a Mini Cooper or a VW Golf?
Taste aside, can an answerer weigh up which is the best of these cars which (in the UK at least) are all in the same broad price range. I am worried the Mini Cooper is too "girly". The VW Golf is being replaced in early '09 so not a good long term buy. The Audi A3 has a 6 month waiting list on it! Any other options for UK mid-range cars?

A: How many miles on it? Do they need to be changed? Please do yourself a favor if you are going to do your own work on this car and buy a book. If this has plug wires, then it's pretty easy. If it has individual coil packs mounted on top of the plugs, then a bit harder but still doable.

I've been qouted £88/mo by tescos. I want to know if I can get it cheaper elsewhere? Yea tried them but the cheapest quote I got was £1495/year John quit making assumptions and get to bed. A: On most cars, they're in the air filter box. It could be in the air tube between the filter box and throttle body (not to be confused with the MAF).

There is a plastic thing on the battery that is difficult to take out even though I 've taken out the the right-end cable and unscrewed the left one

A: That plastic thing is most likely the protective cover for the positive terminal. It has 2 small pins to locate it on the battery as well as double sided tape to keep it there. If this is the item you're describing, it will just pry up with a flat blade screwdriver or even a putty knife. If that's not the item, then re-post a question here.
