Q: Where is the temperature sender on an Audi 80?
Audi 80 SE, 2.0L, 1995. The temperature gauge in the dash is dead, and iv been told its the temperature sender. iv looked and its between 2 senders. 1 is blue with 2 terminals, and the other is grey, with 3 round terms. went down the parts shop, and the guy didn't know which one. Help! driving to Ireland in a few days, and don't really want to risk not knowing the temp of the engine, really appreciate help.

A: remove the fuel inlet from the carb/injection system and switch on ignition..you should get a 1 second burst of fuel...if not can u hear the pump?..if not there may be a fault with the pump relay.

Q: How to change Ignition barrel in Audi 80?
When i took out the key, the contact lights were still lighting and the engine was working. I turned the engine off but not the contact lights. I tried to start ignition of the engine, but the key was just turning inside and nothing happened. Any help is very welcome. Thanx a lot!

A: As long as the key still unlocks the ignition its a dead easy job to replace the barrel. You will need to get a new lock barrel from Audi (£50). Then remove the plastic covers from the steering column, inset the key and turn the key to the normal running position. Looking at the top of the barrel you will see a small round hole, this hole is duplicated on the bottom of the barrel. Place a small screw driver in the top hole, another in the bottom and push both in. If you then pull on the ignition key the whole lock barrel will come out. Ja.

Q: Can i rebuild or adjust the electricity system of my old car(audi 80) model 1975 on my own?

A: Everything starts with what the problem is. You work on individual electrical problems. So specify your first problem. Does it have a good battery to test the electrical systems with? If not, you need one. Q: Where can I get used windows for my 1985 Audi 80 Sport 5E within 100 miles of Manchester.?
Some very charming teens (unknown of course) vandalised my car whilst locked in a garage. Not covered by insurance and I can't afford new ones. I've been quoted in excess of £1000 for what I need. I have to find some within 100 miles of Manchester as I can only pick-up (couriers don't like glass). I need back screen, both back passenger windows and a rear q/light. Any help would be gratefully received.

A: Heater core is somewhat different from a coolant radiator. Technically simple, physically a b ugger to do, taking several hours to dismantle enough to get at it & rebuild it all again.

Q: I have a 1993 audi 80 2.0 which is very hard to start in the morning but once heated up runs fine any ideas?


A: Have your local auto shop check the battery. If its a battery going bad, then the ECU won't start or run the Car correctly until the charging system has filled the battery up. Which happens to be exactly when it warms up. The bad battery will not hold a charge at the correct level for long. This is why you have the problem every time you cracnk the car or at the least over night.

Q: Audi 80 1988 Has no illumination for instrument panel?
Also no illumination for heater knobs etc. I have taken console to bits & replaced bulbs. All other instuments/bulkbs ok. Seems like a hidden fuse but Hayes manual doesn't help. Can U

A: All I can say is good luck finding parts for this thing if your going to tune it, unless you can fab things yourself or are prepared to drop a lot of money. However if you live in europe, it should be a lot easier, so go for it.

Q: Misfire / excessive fuel consumption Audi 80 Series 4?
1992 Audi 80 2.0 8v KEIII Jetronic injection system Had a misfire - replaced lambda and full new exhaust sys fitted. Since then has become worse, now adding excessive fuel consumption to symptoms (13mpg) Swapped out MAF, had absolutely no impact. Previously had diagnostics run, all came back clear. Any thoughts on what it could be?

A: Drive this vehicle straight to the junk yard. It is very expensive to repair. Could be fuel pump or EFI module. Cost/benefit factor?
