Q: audi 2005 1.8t oil pressure light came up & soon afterwards a sound on the engine that is coming from the head?
oil pressure light came up & soon afterwards a sound on the engine that is coming from the head what could it be & what could i do my car has 57000 miles warranty expired at 50000.

A: dont run it anymore. the 1.8t have na issue with gunk building up on the oil pump pickup from not changing the oil often and not using the proper oil this motor should be running 5w40 castrol syntec or another oil that meets vdub standard. the approved fix for this involves replacing the oilp pump and many of the hoses in the pcv system it is a big pain but many of them can be saved even after they start making noise in the top end of the motor. A good vw daler parts department should be able to set you up with all of the parts you need for this repair as they are all referenced in a factory TSB.

Q: should i buy a 2001 bmw 325i or a 2005 audi quattro?
the bmw has 116k miles priced at 10k and the audi has 113k miles priced at 12k. Which would last me longer since the bmw avgs 15k yr where the audi was used 30k a year

A: The BMW will definitely be more reliable, but it may not be trouble free. Both cars are just poor to average in overall reliability. If you really want something that will last you, get a slightly used Honda Civic (or something like that) with less miles.

Q: i have a 2005 audi i got on 7-18-08.it wont start either after i get gas, engine lite on in 3 weeks lemon law?
engine light came on in 3 weeks of buying car dealership is not an audi dealership.wont fix problem i gave them 3 attempts they wont even look into it to see what the problem is.could this be covered under lemon law?wont pass emissions either due to p0455 i told them of the problem on 8-5-08 through their mechanic who "reset the lite"the 2nd time they did a pressure test and "reset"lite the third time he was really rude doesnt even know whats wrong with the car(dealer)and says to me catalytic converters are not covered! did u read the warranty? a big ahole and now after that(that was on 8-28-08)i just reported him to the used car lemon law arbitration and they got my info on 9-9-08.do you think i have a case?????

A: Park the car outside the dealer with a big sign that says I bought this piece of junk here. Tell them you will do that every Saturday until they remedy the issue. You can also place something on the back that gives a brief description of the problem and how bad the vehicle and the customer service from the dealer has been and drive around that way. Does your local news have a "Investigation Team" get in contact with them and see if they can run a story about the dealer selling cars that wont pass emissions test use the environmental angle. The news is more likely to cover that. The last thing a dealer needs is bad publicity especially in a bad economy. Contact the dealer and let them know of your plan. I doubt the Lemon Law will cover your case. I know somebody who did win a Lemon Law case on a new car and it was a long process. Because he had to prove that the dealer was unable to fix the problem and it took almost a year.

Q: 2005 Audi A4 with 71500 Miles?
Is the miles too high for this car? I'm thinking of getting this car and i will probably use it for the next 2 years and sell it again, will the resale value be bad? and will i spend a lot on maintenance? The price for this car now is around 15k By the way the reason i will sell it in 2 years is beccause I'm leaving the country in 2 years

A: Just because your planning on reselling the car makes you need to think about the mileage, Most people just see a number, and the higher the number is, the less your going to get out of your sale. I wouldn't hesitate buying it. With that many miles, it was used mostly on the highway, and we all know highway miles are good. Less strain on the motor/tranny/brakes from stop and go traffic, as well as more time actually spent in the vehicle so less door opening. The car will have less wear on it in general than the same car with the same mileage that was 6 years old... If the car is in good condition, I mean really good condition, I would buy it. Why buy the car, then sell in two years?! Keep it and run it.

Q: Can I use e-85 in my 2005 Audi A-4 3.0 quattro?

A: No. European and Asian manufacturers do not make many ethanol compatible engines. The ones that do were or are related to a Big 3 company except Nissan. Currently these are the only companies that make some E85 capable engines. Not all of their engines are E85 capable though. Chrysler Ford General Motors Isuzu Mazda Mercedes Mercury Nissan

Q: simple question... 2003 330i bmw or 2005 audi a4 1.8t?????
looking to get a new used car.... both have 80000 miles... both auto with autostick

A: First, whatever S P says, BMW has NEVER made a V6. They are all inline sixes. Also, BMW made a 330ix that does have all wheel drive. Second, I have had several clients who swear they will never buy another Audi. Little things keep going wrong, like hardware falling off and electrical stuff that doesn't work. I drive a 2004 330iC and my wife drives a 325iT, and neither one of us would trade our car for anything else of comparable cost. Good luck and good motoring.

Q: Thinking about a 2005 Audi A4?

A: Details...you don't give the miles or condition... go to www.kbb.com They will tell you the current value. VW's (closely related to Audi's) have been troublesome in the recent past and German cars are generally more expensive to repair than American cars.

Q: 2005 audi A4 3.0 or a 2006 lincoln LS.......?
which is better for a first car? the LS is the V8 with 280 HP

A: The Audi A4 is the better of the two check consumer reports and you can see that it is much more reliable than the LS is. it will get better gas milage than the LS(V8) if its quatrro that gives you the added bonus of awd and the build quality is far better compaire the fit and finish of both and the driving dynamics of both and you will find that the Audi is superior in every way. This is not to belittle the LS i think the LS was the best attempt at making a real car an american auto maker has had in a long time its too bat they stoped making them and replaced with the MKZ. The audi is by far the best bet.

Q: How many AUDI RS4 2002-2005 were manufactured?
... it's really hard to find them!!!

A: None, the B6 platform didnt have the RS4 option. Just buy a S4 and upgrade, thats they only thing you can do. Or you could buy a B5 or B7 RS4, The B5 RS4 was only offered as an Avant though.

Q: Audi 2005 A4 "warning message" - what does it mean?
I recently drove home from work (over 2 hours - terrible, but not part of the problem)... anyway - an alert popped onto the middle screen beside the speedometer it flashes: 2:00h and beeps!! I don't know what's wrong... I should add that it has been saying Service when I turn the car on for a week now. Any help is MUCH appreciated! There is no explanation in the manual :( THANKS!!!

A: ahh that stupid service thing always flashes for every retarded thing...the 2:00h is just warning you it's been 2hrs and give it a rest...there's nothing to worry about But go get it checked either way.

Q: about how much costs and audi A4 2005?
not sure about the year but it seems new. thank you please give me an stimate about how much, it does not have to be the exact accurate amount. ;-)

A: It depends on mileage, condition, engine size (4 or 6 cylinder), 2WD or 4WD and options. For example, the A4 configuration is priced by Kelley Blue Book as follows: Vehicle Highlights Mileage: 35,000 Engine: 4-Cyl. 1.8L Turbo Transmission: 5 Speed Manual Drivetrain: FWD (Front Wheel Drive) Selected Equipment Change Equipment Standard Trasmission Air Conditioning Cruise Control ABS (4-Wheel) Power Steering AM/FM Stereo Stability Control Power Windows Single Compact Disc Alloy Wheels Power Door Locks Dual Front Air Bags Tilt Wheel Front Side Air Bags Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. This value may also be used to derive Fair Market Value for insurance and vehicle donation purposes. Vehicle Condition Ratings: Excellent - $21,055 "Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category. Good - $19,840 "Good" condition means that the vehicle is free of any major defects. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and interior have only minor (if any) blemishes, and there are no major mechanical problems. There should be little or no rust on this vehicle. The tires match and have substantial tread wear left. A "good" vehicle will need some reconditioning to be sold at retail. Most consumer owned vehicles fall into this category. Fair - $18,170 "Fair" condition means that the vehicle has some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. This vehicle has a clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. The tires may need to be replaced. There may be some repairable rust damage.

Q: how do i reset my service indicator on my 2.0 tdi audi a4 2005 ( new shape front )?

A: With the key off, Press and Hold the Wrench button in the instrument cluster in the dash. Turn the Key to the On position, release the Wrench button, and Press the "0,0" button. <--- I guess its the mileage button. Then in your display in the cluster, it should show you a reset service interval.
