Q: Audi A5 Tiptronic Mileage?
Any one here who OWNS an A5 with the Tiptronic Automatic.....what MPG are you getting? Thanks!

A: 18 mpg city. 26mpg highway 22mpg average. It has 265HP and 243 torque so it is not great on gas. But it is as fast as a Nissan 350z and Mazda RX-8.

A: Currently, there is no premium on the A5, but you will have to pay sticker price. The hard part will be getting one. Currently, they are very hard to find because of the high demand for them. My dealer is expecting around 20 before November and they are all sold already. If I were you, I would not lease one right now. Out of the 12 I have sold, none of them have been leased. This is because the car has such a high demand, the lease programs are rotten. If you want to lease, I would wait until late 2009 or early 2010 when the demand for them will not be as high. If you were to lease one now, you would be spending from $600-$950 depending on how long and how many miles a year. Good Luck

Q: Should I buy the new Audi A5 or the new BMW 3 series Coupe? And why?

A: They are both gorgeous. Lucky you . ================================================ The A5 will be offered with two gas engines, the new 1.8T FSI that produces 170bhp and a 3.2L FSI V6 that makes 265bhp and 243 ft-lbs. of torque. The TDI motors include a 3.0L oil burner making 240bhp and 369 ft-lbs. of torque and a smaller 2.7L mill making 190bhp. It appears that only the 2.7L TDI is front-wheel drive only, while the other three models are available with quattro all-wheel drive. All models of the A5 will come with a standard six-speed manual transmission, while the 3.2L FSI and 2.7L TDI models are available with Audi's CVT transmission called multitronic. One can also choose an S-line sports package for the A5 that makes it look the part of a performance coupe. Q: gas milage of a v6 vs a v8 on an audi a5?
i was told that when a v8 engine is put into a coupe, its just like a v6 cuz it weighs less and dosent waste that much gas when compared, just wanted to know if this is true on all coupes

A: I'm not sure about the A5 but if its two well engineered engines and you compared them side by side with the same moderate acceleration you would get the same mileage. If its the same car, itll be the same weight and drag (a little more weight for the V8 engine itself, but on an Audi itll probably be aluminum) so it should require only the same energy to move the mass of the car. A good example of the vehicle mass making more of a difference than the engine size: BMW X5, on the older body style, the inline 6 gets worse mileage than the V8 because the inline six is working just as hard as the V8 to move the car, but its working on its upper limit so it strains and uses more fuel. Often a V8 engine option gives lower mileage because its less efficient than a smaller engine, but with Audi that certainly won't be an issue, German engineers strive for efficiency. I'd go V8 on the A5, if youre light on the throttle for your daily driving, the mileage won't be bad, it definitely wont be a difference of 4 miles per gallon, and then you'll have the option of melting your face back towards your ears when you really get on the throttle.

A: Hi Being in the motor trade for many years when people ask me this question my suggestion is this Dont just get a test drive Go and hire each one for a weekend then you all can see what suits you best its the best way for you to make your mind up and if you are really good you can sometimes get a demo car free for the week end ! A: I would wait a until around December to find an A5. I had a guy order an S5 in November 2007, and just got it a couple of weeks ago. Since you have to order it, we currently are charging sticker price on them. At my dealer, we have every A5 expected to come in sold until november except one where the orderer lost his job. It is coming in a month in Deep Sea Blue/ Cinnamon Leather/ Premium Package/ Navigation System ($47,000+). By tomorrow morning around 11:00, I expect it to be sold. Right now they are hot. Most likely they will be hot until the new A4 takes over. You can get normal MSRP on one, but it is very hard to find a base model. Common Features usually are Navigation, Band & Olufson Sound, and 19" Rims. A: Acceleration Ratings: 1-10 Class- Sporty Performance Car. Avg Rating 8.1 BMW 3 Series is a compact car and has an average acceleration rating of 6.5 for its class so it is above its class but not faster than the A5 or 135i which are the same speed. BMW 135i: 8 BMW 328xi: 7 - four door and more luxurious- most expensive too. Audi A5: 8 BMW 1- Series BMW 1 and 3 Series Safety Features- Worst Crash rating for 3 best for 1 Antilock Brakes Traction Control Antiskid System Front Side Airbags Curtain Side Airbags The A5 Safety Features Antilock Brakes Traction Control Antiskid System Front Side Airbags Curtain Side Airbag In the end the best looking car is the 1 series by BMW but I would recommend the hardtop because the soft top is not attractive on that car. If you are willing to spend more money the 335i with dual turbo is the one for you. It will give you everything you need and is truly a perfect performance and luxury-sport vehicle. Also, BMW offers better assistance than Audi and has better deals with repairs and warranty.

Does anyone know the approximate price of an A5, the starting price i mean. Also what are its competitors?

A: The 2008 Audi S5 starts at $50,400 so i would expect the A5 to be around $42,000. The A5 mainly competes with the BMW 6 Series and Mercedes CL Class. Some people claim that the A5 competes with the 3 Series BMW and the CLK Mercedes but they are wrong, the two cars are in completely diffrent classes.

Any ideas on an A5 Convertible coming out in a few years? I have seen concept photos. Also, do you think the new A4 design will be the same on the 09 convertibles? Thanks

A: audi is going to get rid of the a4 convertible soon. it will be REPLACED by the a5.

im getting my first car and my parents have taken me to look at both of these. i like them both but idk what to get. If i had to pick it be the cayman but the only thing bad about it is it only have 2 seats while the audi has 2 but then those little two in the back which should i get

A: they are both very nice cars. what you have to think about is what you are looking for in a car. but as your first car i would recommend the audi a5 , because of the space
