Q: My friends lease for Audi A4 ends this month. Is it possible for me to purchase my friend's car from the dealr
My friend’s lease for the Audi A4 runs out of this month. He has the option to purchase the car for $17K but he will probably will not. Does anyone if it’s possible for me to pay the $17 and take his car? What are the fees involved and do you think it’s worth the trouble?
its a 2004 audi a4 manual 1.8 quatro manual with 40k miles
A: You can absolutely buy the car out, but you do not want it to get in the hands of the dealer first as they will mark it up.
2 possible solutions-
One- try to get financing (autotrader.com, your local bank, etc) and buy it directly from your friend. ie. you give him a check, he pays it off at the leasing company.
Two- use a third party like Swap A lease.com. It might cost you like $50 but they are very familiar with all the different lease documents and can help you with this deal.
good luck- buying a car off the lease is a great way to save money and get a good car.
PS_ take some time into seeing if the warrantee is transferable. It is especially worth it if the car is a 1.8T engine. Great car, but they do have issues (4 of my friends and colleagues)
Q: SHould I lease a 2009 audi a4 for 500.00 a month w/zero down?
A: For prospective:
Last september (right after the initial release) I put 3k down, and had payments at $435 / month(bumped up to $444 because I did the all inclusive service package). the msrp on mine was 35k even. Just remember, that was right after they came out so you can see better deals than that now.
Q: which car is the better all around car to lease? Infiniti G35X or an Audi a4 or a6?
A: Audi has a big name just like all the German car manufacturers. But it suffers from reliability issues. The Infiniti on the other hand is not only more reliable and dependable. But it is also a performer. It has won all comparisons. The parts are less expensive in the Infiniti than the Audi. So go with the INFINITI G35X ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE. Safe, reliable, sporty and fun.
Q: audi vs. volvo lease question?
ok...here's the deal....
In about a month I will be able to lease the Volvo s60, no money down excluding taxes and registration fees for $379 a month...
I've been eyeing the audi a4 as well...the dealer is asking about 3k down, 349 per month...
I really like the idea of putting no $ down...if I made the audi dealer an offer to pay a slightly higher monthly payment (379-399), but no $ down, do you think they would bite....I have excellent credit btw...anyone have any experience w/ audi leasing?...thanks
A: Is that with tax and all?
That sounds okay, but this really isn't the question/questions should be asking before leasing a car like this.
Q: i just leased a brand new audi a4. i know its usually fine to tint the windows of a leased car..but..?
other than that, am i allowed to lower the car and smoke the taillights?
A: Sure you can. Just make sure to keep the factory parts so you can have them put back on before you turn it in. Don't lower it too much or you will destroy the handling. Make sure that you use Audi Sport parts so you don't have warranty problems.
Q: The Audi A4?
I'm looking to lease a new Audi A4 from a third party. Anyone who own this car who can tell me whether or not they like it?
A: We have had very good luck with our 2001 a4 with the 1.8t motor. We liked it so much that we sold our 04 Acura TL because the a4 is SO much better to drive. Handles way better. More comfy. Better stereo (we hated that "high end" DVD A system in the Acura). Just routine maintenance and an oil pump in the a4 and we have 100k on it. Still drives like new.
Replace the serpentine belt at 75 thou miles (good insurance) and keep the oil changed more frequently than the manual says, using a high quality synthetic like Mobile 1). Our oil pump went out because of using cheaper oil and changed at 7500 miles. 7500 interval is okay if you use good oil.
Q: I have made a bad audi lease deal?
audi A4 sedan premium plus, 680 per month, 10k per years.....I just realize how stupid I was
A: Let's see: at 10,000 miles per year, you can drive it 192 miles per week. At 680/mo, it's costing you (just for the lease) 170/wk, plus gas, tune-up, insurance, etc. I can understand why you feel the way you do...Bummer!!! Not the best of deals...
Q: Nissan Altima 3.5 vs. Audi A4. Opinions?
I currently have a 2006 Scion tC and would like to get a bigger, 4-door sedan. The 2 cars that I have my eye on are a Nissan Altima 3.5 and an Audi A4. Ideally, I'd like to lease a new one but if I find a great used car I would consider that too. I plan to test drive both but I just wanted to know if anyone has any comments or opinions that may help me out. Thank you!!
A: If you do it the right way, leasing for both wouldn't be a bad idea.
The A4 will have more stuff and will be the nicer driving car, but it will have a higher cost of ownership.... Premium fuel, Insurance, higher price tag, less reliability and expensive maintenance and repair costs.
The Altima will be more reliable, have more room, run on regular fuel and is a the nicer looking of the two (IMO)
The Audi A4is the fun car.
The Nissan Altima is the smart car.
I would go for the Altima.

Q: buying an audi a4??
I'm planing to buy a brand new ('08or '09) audi a4 the .how much you think I have to pay for a month($3000 down).the cheapest price just for the car + maintains cost(excluding gas & insurence).
And is it better if I buy it or lease it??
A: I have owned a few Audi's...all used, none new. If you are trying to save a few bucks...try getting a used one. Probably can't get a used 08 yet, but for sure an 07. Audi has the BEST certified pre-owned warranty program I have seen. I recently got a 2006 A3 with 25k miles and it came with their new vehicle warranty, which includes a maintenance plan!! No more paying for oil changes or anything like that!! Buying a brand new Audi is silly unless you have money to spend, or plan on keeping it for a long time to appreciate in value because you can kiss $5k-$7k goodbye the minute you drive off of the lot. If you were to get a used 07 or something close, maybe you could upgrade to a sweet A6 for the same price as a brand new A4. Just something else for you to consider. :)
Q: please help decide.. [would you rather buy or lease??]?
I am thinking about buying Audi A4 2.0 T. i am trying to avoid walking inside a dealer before i make up my mind.
they gave me online one option on 2008 audi lease $500/ month, with 2000 down for 36 months. i do not know what the pay off after end of leas is.
Now would it be better to purchase or lease such car? any information on buy vs lease would help. like for example, if i were to lease, and then after 36 months i decided to purchase the car, would the total paid on the car be same, or not, assuming $2000 down is also made on buying? please help if you have nay idea??
i need to decide buy tomorrow.
i am self- emplyed
A: Jordan is correct in that with leasing you are always in a fairly new car but the milage issue and the extra insurance for the A4 is going to be expensive. I would recommend purchasing if you drive more than 12K per year and plan to purchase the car at the end of the lease anyway.
Q: 02 Audi A4 1.8T some smoke from exhausts? Oily smell when hot?
Had car 1 month approx, a previous owner had new engine and turbo fitted at 92000 miles due to over filling of oil (i am not 100% if this is fact) while owned by lease company. Mileage is now at 101000, no oil or water seems to be lost and she runs great, just has the nuisance smell and some smoke occaisionally, any ideas folks?
A: mmm someones fibbing... you overfill it, itll blow the gaskets or seals... you wouldnt need a new engine, certainly not an audi...
is the smell like rancid... then its burning oil, which indicates the rings/cylinder head/ are worn, whihc doesnt happen at 100k unless its been thrashed ot death every day of its life... which it may have been, being a hire car...
simple ways to check.
exhaust should be dry, but slightly sooty, and wipe off your finger easlily... wet and oily, its too rich, suspect rings/mixture/air filter... and the pplugs should be a sandy grey... NOT black and oily.
you can contact the DVLA to check the mileage is accurate and it hasnt been clocked... look on your v5, or MOT certificate
Q: audi a4 quattro or bmw 328xi sedan?
which car should i lease for three years which one would be the better option?
A: i say audi for a few reasons other than coz i have one myself. first, bmw 3-series are like hte honda civic of entry level luxury cars. everyone and their dogs have one. audi quattro is a proven system and the benchmark for many awd systems. dont' know what year audi but in most cases in recent years, the audi looks better inside and out. although i think audis feel less connected to the road than bmw's so they don't feel as sporty.
Q: 09 audi a4 or 09 altima coupe se?
well my dad will lease one of these cars for me and im unsure which one to go with. speeds not a big concern for me rather looks and how smooth the ride is. thanks
A: how dare you compare an audi to an altima! haha
I have an 09 audi a4 and i love it!! definately the way to go.
Q: cost difference between business (s-corp) and personal car lease?
I'm about to lease a car in a couple of weeks (2007 audi a4 /roughly $450/month) under my father's name (who has perfect credit)...
(my credit got ruined due to identity theft--so putting it under my name isn't an option)
Would it be possible to start a new business (s-corp), and qualify for the same lease under my business (even if it's only 1 week old)?
What's the cost difference between a personal and business car lease? how about the cost of insurance?
Basically, i want to be able to write off this lease on my taxes (because car would be used 60% for business) ... so i'm not sure if i'll even be able to do that, if the car was under my father's name, therefore the business lease would come into play.... so not sure which would be more "cost affective"...
Thanks for any input on this.
-ales
side note: i also just became and "independent contractor" , and i am planning on starting an s-corp for better taxes.
A: You will probably be turned down for the lack of time, most banks say that you need 12 to 24 months of business run time before they will work with you on this...
Q: Audio a4. Is it going to be a beautiful car or what?
I'm getting it. But I tthink the maintenance might be expensive. Consumer reports isnt too kind to audi. I may lease in order to avoid long term maintenance. Thoughts please?
A: Consumer Reports isn't kind to any brand other than Toyota, and Lexus. Like any high-end Euro Car, maintenance will get pricey after the warranty ends. It is not that they are very unreliable, but Audi uses very high quality parts making repairs expensive. I would not lease if you are getting the new 2009 model. Since it will be on the first year, they will be horrible, I mean horrible leasing rates. Out of the twelve A5's I sold this year, none did leasing. Wait a year to see how reliability is, and for leasing plans to be better.
Good Luck
